Itinerary

DAY 1KOTA KINABALU TO MALIAU BASIN STUDY CENTRE

Depart on a 7 hours overland Journey from Kota Kinabalu to Maliau Basin Shell building. Upon arrival, guest will be served with a refreshing welcoming drinks and briefed on the Do’s and Dont’s guidelines while being at Maliau Basin Conservation area. Then you will have a short free and easy time where you can stroll around the information gallery and souvenir shop. You can also have some light snack at the Maliau cafe.
 
Proceed to Maliau Basin Study centre for another 1 hour journey. Once arrive, register, check-in and meet your inhouse guide, he will lead you to the the 3D model of Maliau Basin for a short introduction. Get in to your room, unpack then free and easy, you may take this opportunity to visit the Maliau Gallery.
 
Get your dinner at Maliau Al’Fresco dining hall, then after dinner proceed to Maliau Basin Mini Theatre for a short video show of introduction to MBCA.
 
Around 2100hrs, go for a Maliau Safari Night Drive to see some nocturnal wildlife, if the weather not permits, you will be taken for a Maliau Dawn Safari Drive at 0500hrs the next morning.
2300hrs Light’s off and have a good rest!

DAY 2MALIAU BASIN STUDY CENTRE TO NEPENTHES RESEARCH STATION

Breakfast then depart to Agathis Camp, where you will start your journey into Sabah’s Lost World (Packed Lunch provided). Before you start, your guide will give you some briefing then you will start your 7km trek to Nephentes Research station, also known as Camel Trophy Camp. This trek will take around 5 to 7 hours depending on your fitness level where the first 3km uphill trail is the most challenging part of the journey.
 
Upon arrival, have a short rest then you can do some exploration to see the beauty of two (2) different types of forest, lower montane forest and heath forest.
 
Dinner then free and easy where you may take the opportunity to do some star gazing activity. Overnight at Nepenthes Research Station.

DAY 3NEPENTHES RESEARCH STATION OVERNIGHT

Breakfast and get your Packed Lunch. Start your day with a 2.5km trek to a junction leads to three separated trails towards three different waterfalls namely; Takob akob Waterfall, Fowzi Waterfall, and Giluk Waterfall, while visiting each one of these waterfall, you may take your packed Lunch.
 
After finished with all the waterfall trek, trek back to Nepenthes Research Station, Dinner at 1900hrs and Free at leisure. Rest and have a good night!
 

DAY 4NEPENTHES RESEARCH STATION TO GINSENG RESEARCH STATION

Wake up and get your breakfast. Pickup your packed lunch and bag pack then start you 10km trek to the majestic 7-tiered Maliau waterfall.
 
Get your lunch then continue your trekking to Ginseng Research Station to spend the night. Dinner and Free at leisure where you can do some short night walk activity around the vicinity. Rest and have a good night!

DAY 5GINSENG RESEARCH STATION TO KOTA KINABALU

Wake up and get your breakfast around 0700hrs, embark on another short trekking to discover the British High Commissioner Waterfall then another 15 minutes walk towards the ginseng waterfall. Trek back to Ginseng Research Station then pack all your belonging and litter.
 
There after, continue your journey of 7.5km trek to Agathis Camp, along the way you may take your packed lunch.
 
Upon arrival at Agathis Research Station, depart to the Maliau Basin Shell building for check-out and you can make use of the restroom available to clean yourself before departing to Kota Kinabalu.
 
Arrive at Kota Kinabalu, Check-in. End of tour.
