Itinerary

DAY 1KOTA KINABALU TO KINABALU NATIONAL PARK

Check out from your hotel and depart on a 2-hour drive to Kinabalu National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy a bird photography session along the trail or main road where the Whitehead’s bird being the highlight.

Around noon, head to a local restaurant near the park for lunch, then return to Kinabalu National Park for more bird photography.

At around 5:00 pm, depart for your accommodation to check in and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Dinner will be served at 7:30 pm, followed by a restful evening.

DAY 2KINABALU NATIONAL PARK OVERNIGHT

Enjoy an early breakfast, then depart for Kinabalu National Park for another bird photography session until noon.

Around noon, head to a local restaurant for lunch, then return to Kinabalu National Park for more bird photography until around 5:00 pm.

Afterward, return to your accommodation and enjoy some leisure time before dinner at around 7:30 pm.

DAY 3KUNDASANG TOWN TO TELUPID

Check out from your room and enjoy an early breakfast. Then, depart for Telupid Bornean Peacock Pheasant’s Hide, which is about a 2-hour drive away.

Upon arrival, register at the counter and transfer to a 4X4 vehicle for a short drive to the trekking point. From there, embark on a 1 km walk, approximately 30 minutes along the trail, to reach the hide.

Once there, settle in and enjoy a bird photography session, with the Bornean Peacock Pheasant as the highlight.

Around noon, enjoy your packed lunch and continue bird photography until around 5:00 pm. Afterward, return to the registration counter.

Transfer to your accommodation for check-in and enjoy dinner at around 7:30 pm.

DAY 4TELUPID TOWN TO PITTA HIDE

After breakfast, collect your packed lunch and depart for Pitta Hide. Upon arrival, register and transfer to a 4X4 vehicle for a 20-minute drive, followed by a 1 km walk to reach the hide.

Once there, set up your camera and enjoy your photography session, with the Blue-banded Pitta as the highlight.

Around noon, enjoy your packed lunch, then continue your bird photography until around 5:00 pm. Afterward, return to the registration counter and transfer back to your accommodation for dinner and rest.

DAY 5TELUPID TO TAMBUNAN TO KOTA KINABALU

Check out early and depart for Tambunan town, a journey of about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, visit a local restaurant for breakfast, then collect your packed lunch.

Afterward, continue on a 30-minute drive to Trus Madi Hide. Upon arrival, enjoy your bird photography session, with the Bornean Banded Pitta as the highlight.

Around noon, enjoy your packed lunch and continue the bird photography session until 4:30 pm. Then, transfer to Kota Kinabalu city, a 1.5-hour drive away.

Drop-off at your hotel in Kota Kinabalu or at KKIA.
