Discover the beauty of this 55,507-hectare Mixed Dipterocarp Forest, renowned as the world’s first FSC-certified “well-managed” tropical rainforest. Deramakot Forest Reserve is a wildlife paradise, home to the globally threatened Orangutan, Bornean Pygmy Elephant, and Wild Cat of Borneo. While we cannot guarantee wildlife sightings due to their natural habitats, your journey through Deramakot Forest Reserve promises an unforgettable and enriching wildlife experience.
We will pick you up from your hotel in Sandakan town or from the airport around 12:00 pm. From there, we will begin a 4-hour journey to Deramakot Forest Reserve.
The road will be bumpy and uneven, and along the way, we will stop at a gas station for a restroom break. You may also purchase some snacks for the journey.
Upon arrival, enjoy a welcome drink while your guide gives a briefing about the tour activities. After that, proceed with check-in, followed by some leisure time.
Dinner will be served at 7:30 pm. Afterward, join a night safari drive starting at 9:00 pm, which will last for about two hours.
Return to your accommodation and rest for the night.

Enjoy some light refreshments before heading out for your morning drive at 6:00 am. This drive will take approximately two hours.
Return to the lodge for breakfast, then relax and enjoy your free time until lunch, which will be served from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. After lunch, you will have more leisure time.
At around 3:30 pm, collect your packed dinner and set off on a long drive lasting about five hours. This journey combines an afternoon drive, dusk drive, and night drive, focusing on both diurnal and nocturnal wildlife.
Before nightfall, stop by the roadside to enjoy the sights and sounds of the rainforest while savoring your packed dinner. Afterward, continue your journey back to the lodge with a slow night drive, spotting wildlife along the way.
Upon arrival at the lodge, unwind with a relaxing evening or rest for the night.

Enjoy some light refreshments before heading out for your morning drive at 6:00 am. This drive will take approximately two hours.
Afterward, return to your accommodation and prepare for checkout. Then, enjoy your breakfast. after breakfast, your driver will transfer you back to sandakan town or sandakan airport.

BOOKING POLICIES
Private tours require a minimum of two (2) participants per booking.
Non-private tours may accommodate solo travelers; however, a single supplement fee will be applied.
Non-private tours are available exclusively in July, August, and September, and are subject to limited availability.
Private tours are available year-round and may also be arranged upon request during July, August, and September.
CANCELLATION BY CLIENTS;
More than 60 days prior to tour commencement
Eligible for a full refund, excluding the 10% deposit and any applicable administrative fees.
30 to 59 days prior to tour commencement
Eligible for an 80% refund of the total payment, excluding the 10% deposit and any applicable administrative fees.
20 to 29 days prior to tour commencement
Eligible for a 50% refund of the total payment, excluding the 10% deposit and any applicable administrative fees.
14 to 19 days prior to tour commencement
Eligible for a 25% refund of the total payment, excluding the 10% deposit and any applicable administrative fees.
13 days or fewer prior to tour commencement
Not eligible for a refund.
Important Notes
The 10% deposit is strictly non-refundable.
Administrative fees may apply to all cancellations to cover processing and handling costs.
As an alternative to cancellation, flexible postponement may be arranged, subject to availability and applicable terms.
CANCELLATION BY US
While every effort is made to operate tours as scheduled, Gibbon Adventure Sdn Bhd reserves the right to cancel a tour under certain circumstances, including but not limited to:
Minimum participant requirements not being met.
Unforeseen operational or safety issues.
Circumstances beyond our reasonable control (e.g., natural disasters, government restrictions, or force majeure events).
In the event that Gibbon Adventure Sdn Bhd must cancel a tour, the following options will be extended to affected clients:
Full Refund with Voucher Compensation
A full refund of payments made will be issued, less applicable administrative charges.
The 10% non-refundable deposit will not be forfeited; instead, it will be converted into a credit voucher. This voucher may be applied toward any future booking with Gibbon Adventure Sdn Bhd and will remain valid for 24 months from the date of issue.
Postponement
Clients may choose to postpone their tour to another available date, subject to availability.
If postponement is requested for dates outside of promotional or group tour periods, the booking may be upgraded to a private tour, with any applicable additional costs payable by the client.
Alternative Tour Option
Where possible, clients may transfer their booking to another tour package of equal value.
Should the alternative tour selected be of higher value, clients will be required to pay the price difference. If of lower value, the balance will be refunded (excluding administrative charges).
Important Notes
Gibbon Adventure Sdn Bhd shall not be held liable for any incidental expenses incurred by clients as a result of tour cancellation, including but not limited to airfare, visa fees, insurance, or personal expenses. Clients are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance to cover such situations.
Administrative charges applied to refunds are strictly for processing and handling purposes.
The above remedies (refund, postponement, or alternative tour) represent the full extent of Gibbon Adventure Sdn Bhd’s liability in the event of a company-initiated cancellation.
